Parent Tours

Enrolments are encouraged any time but Friday August 7th is the cut off date for ALL Bayside schools. Enrolment forms are available on our website or on request from our school office.

Regular School Visits by Kinders are ongoing throughout Term 3 and 4 in consultation with the local four year old kinder teachers. Children in kinder groups are invited to visit Sandringham East Primary School with kinder teachers to experience exciting classroom activities.

Monday June 15th, 2.30 – 3.15pm

The Prep / Year 6 buddy program is a highlight of a Prep child’s year at Sandringham East Primary.  Take the opportunity to observe the strong relationships that are cultivated between older and younger students through this program.  Open to 2010 prospective parents.

This is an opportunity for the whole family to visit Sandringham East Primary School.  School tours will be available. The Principal Laureen Walton, Assistant Principal Kendra Parker, and current Prep teachers Wendy Arkey, Claire Castrillon and Marnie Majewski will be attending to answer any questions.  Open to 2010 prospective preps and their families.

Meet the Teachers – Specialist (Japanese and Visual Arts) and classroom activities

Tuesday 20th October 9.30-10.30am.

Parents can visit the uniform shop and order today. Children are given the opportunity to participate in activities as part of the Performing and Visual Arts Programs. They will learn some Japanese words and culture and make something to take home with them from their visit to the Art room. These activities allow our 2010 Prep children to become familiar with activities that they will be doing at school as well as meeting our specialist staff – Michelle Keane and Leanne Murray

Meet the Teachers – Specialist (Performing Arts & Physical Education) and classroom activities

Monday 9th November   9.30-10.30

Parents are offered an opportunity to attend a healthy eating program titled ‘Reclaim the Lunchbox’. Children participate in games as a part of our Physical Education program and learn some songs and dances that they can sing at home. Again, these activities allow our 2010 Prep children to become familiar with school activities and the different classrooms that they will be visiting at school. They will also be meeting prep teachers and our specialist staff – Shannon Price and Geoff Ryan.

Parent Information Evening for Enrolled Students

Monday 23rd November 7.00pm

This is an information session for parents of children starting school at Sandy East in 2010.  Members of our school community will speak on a variety of topics, including:

• Sandringham East Primary School in 2010

• Expectations for preps at the beginning of the new school

• Opportunities for parents to become involved at Sandringham East Primary School.

Prep Orientation – Meet your teacher for 2010

Tuesday December 8th 2.00 - 3.00pm

This is an exciting day, as the children get to visit their new classroom and meet their teacher for next year. The children also meet the other children who will be members of their class. There will be story-time, songs and other fun activities that the children will participate in. This is an important opportunity for 2010 prep students to become better acquainted with their teacher and become even more familiar with the school environment.
